The Village of Thiensville is located within the City of Mequon and has a population of 3,235 residents as of the 2010 census. The village sits along the Milwaukee River and is a short drive to downtown Milwaukee.
In downtown Thiensville there are tons of little local shops, all offering different types of services. Glaze is a walk-in crafts shop where you can paint pre-made pottery pieces, partake in glass fusing, or create a piece out of clay. Glaze also offers wine glass painting sessions where you and a group can paint wine glasses that you can take home and use forever. This session is sometimes offered on a walk-in basis, depending on availability. Throughout the year, Glaze will have special events where you can partake in sessions with different themes. More information about those events can be found here.
Thiensville also has many different local food options, each with their own flare and flavor. Fiddlehead’s is a coffee chain with locations across southeastern Wisconsin and was founded in Thiensville. Fiddlehead’s serves up their own in-house specialty brews along with baked goods for the perfect morning pick me up. For some authentic Himalayan cuisine mixed with live music, check out the cheel. This local food spot’s menu is unlike any in the area and is a great way to step out of your food comfort zone. There are also live music events throughout the year the offer the true “dinner and a show experience”.
